The Game bar has evolved into a toolbar overlay. The Game bar and Game mode have been updated in the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, allowing users to record gaming footage, capture pictures, talk on Xbox Live, evaluate system resource use, and more.
However, not all users have access to all of the game features. If Gaming features aren’t available on the Windows desktop, users should make sure they’re turned on. This is how users may use Win 10’s gaming features to their greatest potential.
How do I enable the gaming features and game bar in Windows 10?
1. Install the most recent build of Windows 10
Step 1: First and foremost, some users may need to update Windows 10 to the most recent build version, as prior editions do not have the new Game bar introduced in version 1903. Press the Windows key + S keyboard shortcut to get the latest May 2019 Update.
Step 2: In the text box, type the word ‘update.’
Step 3: Then, on the right, click Check for Updates, which will bring up the window shown below.
Step 4: Under the “Feature upgrade to Window 10, version 1903” paragraph, click Download and install immediately. It’s possible that some users will need to first click the Check for Updates button.
2. Install the Windows Media Pack on your Windows 10 KN or N computer
Step 1: Users on Windows 10 KN and N may need to install the Windows Media Pack in order to have all of the media technologies needed for the Game bar. Open the Windows Media Pack website to do so.
Step 2: To download, click the Download button.
Step 3: Press the Next button after selecting an installation bundle for 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.
Step 4: Then, to install the media bundle, run the downloaded installer.
3. Turn on the Game Bar
Step 1: To access it, users must first activate the Game Bar. Press the Windows key + S hotkey to bring up the Game Bar.
Step 2: As a search term, type in ‘Game bar.’
Step 3: To open the window shown below, select Game bar settings.
Step 4: Turn on the option to “Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using the Game bar.”

4. Turn on the Game DVR
Users must also turn on the Record in the background while I’m playing a game option in order to record games. Users may do so by going to Settings and selecting Captures immediately below the Game bar, then turning on the Record in the background setting.
5. Select Game Mode
Users may also enable game optimization by turning on the Game Mode option in Settings. In the Settings, go to the Game Mode tab (seen below). Then, if Game Mode is turned off, click it to enable it.
Conclusion
Press the Windows key + G hotkey once you’ve activated all of the gaming options listed above. The default hotkey for bringing up the Game bar is that. Then users may take use of all of Win 10’s gaming features!
